Hello! I have been beading for over 16 years. I am now 28. What's there to say? Usual story pretty much- I started making beaded earrings like most everyone else, moved onto square stitch and then taught myself peyote. Been making bead patterns the last couple years.

I sell them here, and just recently on bead-patterns.com
If you have ever browsed through my patterns, you will see that a vast majority are of animals- they say you write what you know, so why not make bead patterns of creatures you find fascinating. I mean have you seen the documentary Planet Earth? Wow!

My favorite things beading:
Beaded Boxes, 3D- Items, certain panels or bags or just something I designed especially for me.

My favorite beads:
Delicas! Or other great beads that I find at Firemountaingems.

Finished my first beaded Box that was made from a pattern I had that I modified using Julia Pretl's instruction as a guideline to bead up. It's about the 8th box I have made now. They take a good amount of time to make, but are very worth it.

Anyway, It turned out really well, If I do say so myself, plan to make many more in the future, especially now that I know I can take many other patterns and do the same thing.

A lot of people think because My web site is named Maddiethekat that I am Maddie. But the truth is my site and design name is named after my adorable little, stick to me like glue, cat Maddie. She just vies for attention, and as I am typing this up right now on my laptop, she is sitting on me and part of my computer, her head on the back of my left hand. She can get away with things like that since she is small, and well cute.

The other picture is of Adam, and when I originally typed this- he was, still with us, but a couple months ago he became quite sick, and after several visits to the vets- after watching him lose horrible amounts of weight as he stopped eating, became blind and then stopped moving; he passed away. We struggled with trying to save him, tried giving him medicines, tried force feeding him, even sticking needles in him so that he wouldn't become dehydrated. It was quite horrible actually. And I think I will stop writing about it now. I don't know how many times I have thanked God for out cats ongoing good health and such longs lives. I am grateful for the time I had with him, and while I miss him, I most definitely couldn't have let him suffer, and while I wish he was still with us, I am actually somewhat relieved that we didn't have to come to the decision of putting him down. I still see him sometimes, in his usual places, but then I will look again, I will then realize it was just an after image of memories tugging through my mind. We had him over fourteen years, and I miss his gentleness and they way he would paw you when he wanted attention, not to mention his tiny, almost non existence meow.

Love you Adam. Goodbye.

Oh Yeah, my name is Dawn, for those that have actually read this far. No nickname, unless daughter, or sestra will do.  Sestra being the pronunciation for sister in Russian.

I have a sister and a new niece, one cat who is going to be with me for a lot longer than she has already been, and parents who have the pleasure of having to put up with me. :) Actually they do like having me around. My niece Daye just turned one, is crawling and about ready to walk soon. She is very photogenic- like her mom, and I have never seen so many pictures around any household than I have seen of her. And lets not even talk about how many videos we have of her- My sister had to buy an external hard drive just to have room for it all. But she is her first baby, my first niece, and my parents first grandchild, so I believe we are allowed. Jesus certainly blessed us with her! But when God is she going to get some hair?
